Apto’s story begins like a lot of other tech startups: In 2012, Tanner McGraw (a commercial real estate broker at the time), became frustrated with the lack of technology available in his industry and decided to do something about it. Apto is now a leading CRM and deal management software for commercial real estate brokers, with more paid users than any other provider. Apto was built by and for brokers to help them manage contacts, properties, listings, and deals—anywhere, from any device.

This Denver-based company isn’t only passionate about the real estate, they are also passionate about beer. Two of their head brewers, Josh Haas and Colin McAlpine, give more insight on their roles at Apto and the brews they will be pouring at Colorado Startup Brews 2018:

What do you do for Apto?

McAlpine: At Apto I help find and bring brokers into the Apto community.
Haas: Stuff and things. Mostly product management stuff which is primarily talking to our customers to understand how we can build great software to meet their needs then translating that to our development teams so we can make it a reality.

Tell us about the beer styles you are submitting this year?

McAlpine: Apnautic IPA. Our beer style is an interpretation on a Session IPA focused on drinkability, low IBUs, with high citrus notes.
Haas: AptoMoon APA. Marzen inspired Pale Ale. Focused easy drinking American hop forward with a tilt towards a dark malty flavor.

How and where did you brew your beer?

McAlpine: We brew our beer all-grain in the apt
Haas: Ye ole garage.

What do you plan on doing with this year’s championship Trophy?

McAlpine Displaying it next to our ping pong championship trophy
Haas: Taunting Colin with it.
